Five plants that purify the air

Plants are essential to the survival of every living creature on this earth. One of the ways they are helpful is that they can purify the air. They have very strong filters that are able to bring filtration to the air, use the carbon dioxide in the air, and replace it with pure oxygen. Many studies have shown that all plants are essential to life on earth. Five popular household plants for purifying the air are listed here.

Orchids: These plants grow naturally in rain forests. They need periods of drenching and drying and the roots need to breathe in order to survive. They do not extract nutrients from soil. They produce oxygen at night, which makes them great for a bedroom.

Palms: They are very popular and come in many varieties and sizes. They actually target and even remove benzene, formaldehyde, and carbon monoxide (these chemicals are found in cigarettes) from the air.

Peace Lily: Lilies grow and thrive in the shade and can be grown indoors or in gardens. They remove ammonia, acetone, ethyl acetate, benzene, methyl alcohol from the air.

Ferns: These plants look delicate but are extremely hardy. There are thousands of varieties for both indoor and outdoor gardens. They remove pollutants such as xylene and toluene from the air.

Schefflera: These plants have sometimes referred to as the “umbrella tree.” They are a tropical plant that has many varieties. Most feature long, shiny, oval green leaves that droop from a central stalk. In summer, they can be moved outdoors under some shade. They rid the air of formaldehyde, benzene, and other harmful chemicals.
